Dear Sangha, dear friends and sponsors,
thank you very much for the great support last year.
Unfortunately, the 2019 grant certificates cannot be delivered until the end of February, as the accounting system is being completely converted. We ask for your understanding. Next year we will be earlier again.
We very much hope for your continued support, especially for the following projects, and express our heartfelt gratitude. Karmapa Chenno!

TESTAMENT DONATION - Putting the Karma Kagyu Community Germany e.V. as an heir in the will
The XVIIth Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, spiritual head of the Tibetan Buddhist Karma Kagyu order, was called „Green Buddha“ for his commitment to environmental protection during a WWF visit.
The Karma Kagyu Community Germany e.V. is the official representation of the Karma Kagyu lineage and the Karmapa in Germany. In its more than 40 years of existence, the association has brought many of the great teachers of the Karma Kagyu tradition to Germany – including the XVII Karmapa – and at the same time, while preserving the traditional teachings, has broken new ground for a contemporary spirituality and the role of Buddhist teaching and practice in the modern world. It conveys the values of tolerance, mutual respect and compassion as well as an understanding of the interdependence of the earth and its inhabitants.
All this was and is made possible by the voluntary commitment and contributions of the members as well as by the many donations from friends and supporters.
Another possibility of support is to appoint the Karma Kagyu Community Germany e.V. as heirs in your will. Such a „Buddhist Testament“ would be a strong and sustainable investment for the support of the activities of the Karmapa and our association.
For further information please contact Horst-Günther Rauprich, 1st Chairman of the Karma Kagyü Community Germany e.V.:
Bridging the gap between the Tibetan Buddhist wisdom tradition and its roots in the West is the great task that the Kamalashila Institute has set itself in the German-speaking world. It is essential for the teaching and a deeper understanding of the teachings and exercises that the Tibetan texts are available in the German language.
„In order for the Dharma to take root completely in any language or culture, there is initially a need for accurate translations, … The personal transmission (from the realized master to the disciple) … is, however, the heart of living Buddhist teachings.“ Dzogchen Pönlop Rinpoche 1992
Both the written translation and, above all, the interpretation of the lectures and teachings of the masters and teachers are not possible without qualified translators. Our great masters would be so to speak speechless without these translators. Therefore, the Karma Kagyu Community Germany e.V. would like to create a fund for the financing of the translators of the association, for their training and further education and for translation projects as well as their publication.
We ask the large circle of our members, interested parties, sponsors, friends and the numerous practitioners of the Tibetan Buddhist traditions to participate in this project with regular donations. If each of you would donate 10 € per month, we could systematically promote translating and train translators. But also individual donations help us further. Join us!
Support of the reorganisation of the office of the Karma Kagyu Community Germany
Our Tibetan Buddhist Religious Community is the bearer and organizer of the activities of His Holiness Karmapa and his centers in Germany, and the office of the community is the organizational and financial switchboard. Founded in 1978 in Munich at the request of the XVI Karmapa as the official representative of the Karma Kagyu Lineage, our community has written a success story in the course of its more than 40 years of existence. It has proven its great importance for the Karma Kamtsang Lineage, for the activities of Karmapa in Germany and Europe as well as for the spreading and transformation of the Buddhist wisdom teachings in the Western German cultural area with its activities. In order to be able to master the constantly developing technical and legal requirements as well as necessary personnel renewals also in the future, we began with the reorganization of our office. The next two years will see personnel changes in the Executive Board and in Accounting, which in a transitional phase will lead to the induction of the future Head of Accounting and thus to a double staffing. In addition, the working hours in the accounting department will have to be adjusted to the increased workload. And the accounting system must be optimized. In preparation, this was also combined with a change in tax consulting in order to improve the consulting possibilities through closer geographical proximity. In addition, the IT and communication systems had to be partially renewed (fiber optic network, software, security technology).
The uncovered additional costs of the branch office will amount to € 50,000 by the end of 2020.
Since we are not in a position to collect these additional costs from the centres as a contribution, we would like to ask our members, the sangha, our friends and sponsors for financial support.

It’s progressing! In the last months the websites of the association, Kamalashila Institute and TTC Hamburg have been updated. For this we thank our webmaster and his team.
This has brought us much closer to our goal of being perceived by the public as one community under the patronage of His Holiness the XVII Karmapa through a uniform web presence and to work in a cost-saving way.
For the work of the last months 6.700 € were spent. These are friendship prices! This is compared to only 1.270 € in donations. For the further expansion of the web presence we need 4.500 € until 31 March. We ask for your support!
INTERCONNECTED – Embracing Life in our Global Society
It is of particular concern to us that Karmapa’s most recently published book INTERCONNECTED be published in a German version. We want to make his book accessible to a broad public, so that it can serve many people as guidance and orientation in the necessary process of change of our present time.
For this important project we need a total of 8.000 € (for translation and printing). We ask for support with donations.
As a thank-you to all donors we will be raffling five copies of his book Karmapa – the new star of Tibet signed by Stephan Kulle.
