Karma Tekchen Yi Ong Ling is His Holiness, the XVII Gyalwang Karmapa’s, retreat center in Germany supervised by its spiritual director, the Venerable Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. Lama Kunga Dorje, the center’s experienced retreat master and resident lama, was chosen by Thrangu Rinpoche.

The center is located on the outskirts of Halscheid in the. parish of Windeck, approx. 80 km east of Cologne and can be reached from there by car or train in approx. 1 hour. Located outside the village, with a wide view over the charming, varied Windecker Land, it is a place of silence and peace that invites you to meditate and contemplate.

The center offers a variety of retreat options – from the classic 3-year retreat to 2-week short-term retreats. Thrangu Rinpoche has agreed to this open structure in order to give as many practitioners as possible, under the conditions of modern life, the opportunity to take part in a classic three-year retreat without interruption, at shorter intervals or only partially, or even to carry out a retreat with their own practice.
